Makassed University is characterized by the high quality of its curriculum and the conduct of scientific research to respond to the various needs of our society.
Makassed University provides quality academic standards, keeping pace with social developments and evolving scientific research. Its specializations meet the requirements of the community in general and the aspirations of its students in particular.
The Makassed Higher Institute for Islamic studies was established in 1982 to offer a Master degree in Islamic Studies.
In 2000, Makassed University of Beirut was established, and thus the Institute for Islamic Studies became a faculty within that system.
The faculty currently offers both MA and PhD degrees in Islamic Studies. Makassed faculty of Islamic Studies is staffed by highly qualified professors who are recognized for their expertise in Islamic Studies, and houses a library that offers more than 100,000 titles on Islamic Studies, in addition to 508 original manuscripts.
1- Conveying to students the Islamic principles and social ideals on which Makassed was founded;
2- Developing and disseminating knowledge and quality in learning, teaching and scientific research activities;
3- Encouraging scientific research that benefits the community, and keeping pace with the general progress of science.
